In this section
of the website, lists the main commercial activities, workshops
that make products and services at the famous Venetian Carnival.
The history of Venetian mask back in 1271 with the school of
"maschereri." They were made of clay for the model,
the plaster cast, tamp paper, glue of flour, gauze, paint colors.
In 1773 there were approximately 12 shops with 31 workers few
in comparison to that if it was in those years. In 1600 it is
so abused in the mask that the government of the Republic of
Venice touched make rules that limited their use. It is prohibited
to wear in the periods were not those of Carnival, in places
of worship, no weapons, nothing schiamazzi group and wear at
set times. The use of masks was forbidden to prostitutes and
men who frequented casinos. For masks are also intended to make
the fake beard and mustache. Mask was also a woman disguised
as humans and vice versa. |

Our production is
done entirely by hand in respect of the oldest traditions. Are
in fact used the same techniques and the same materials used
for centuries in the shops' mascareri '. Venice was the only
city where the mask became an object of common use, the nobles
wore often, especially in holidays, and all wore the carnival.
From the choice of raw materials until the last touch of decoration
is put great care to get the VERA Venetian mask. Each mask is
one piece: either because they are necessarily made by hand,
and because each is decorated individually, without a fixed
design.
